Newman University - Honors Program
The Newman University Honors Program strives to enable high-potential students to grow academically. The program challenges students in the classroom, provides co-curricular opportunities to stimulate intellectual growth, and nurtures a community which embraces the importance and relevance of academic pursuits and peer connection.

Admission to the Honors Program and the Honors Scholarship are automatically offered at the time of acceptance to first-time students who have a 3.80 GPA or higher.  Transfer students with a 3.80+ GPA, and First-Time students who have LESS than a 3.80 GPA may seek admission by application.

Upon being offered Honors Program admission and scholarship, students must then confirm their interest by interacting with the Honors Program in at least one event during the academic year, which could include participating in a mock game, visiting the Freshman Honors Seminar class, attending a virtual information session, meeting with Honors during a weekday campus visit, or attending the Honors lunch during a large weekday or weekend visit event.  These events are a great way to learn more about the Honors Program, meet the staff and students, and decide if it's a good fit!

To confirm the Honors Scholarship and reserve a spot in the Fall 2026 Honors Program cohort, students must attend one of these opportunities and submit a non-refundable enrollment deposit by May 1, 2026.  Commitments may be accepted after this date, as space allows!

We look forward to meeting you!  For any questions, call Admissions at 316.942.4242 or email Admissions@NewmanU.edu.
